SM TOWN Live in Singapore

SM Town Live in Singapore was absolutely magical. I had been waiting for this since forever and it felt like a dream come true. One that I didn’t believe was actually possible when I started my fan girl journey. So it was with excited and happy hearts that Doreen and I went got SM Town Live in Singapore!!

It started off terribly. The queues were horrible, and too many EXO fans were everywhere. We had to literally fight our way in. I was separated with my friends and we were afraid we were going to end up in different mosh pits. Luckily we ended up together, but after getting tagged we escaped the queue to go get a drink. We came back to a slight drizzle and a large space where we cut our way in as there was no shelter. Hence, we got to stand in the rain for quite a bit, complete with lightning and thunder a full blown rainstorm. Shivering in our raincoats, huddled under our umbrella holding heavy bags and our fanboards. Luuckily, the rain stopped in time for the concert to begin.

When the concert started it was amazing. Getting to see all these amazing people upclose, knowing that they were real. Knowing that they were performing their hearts out, putting in their best to ensure the fans enjoyed themselves really made me feel touched.

I have my biases, but I really couldn’t decide my favourite performance of the night. I loved them all. I had seen most of them individually at separate events before but seeing them together, made the night magical.

I just want to gush on and on about how Changmin was all too charismatic on stage and made me fall in love with him all over again, or how friendly Tiffany was like, exactly like a Disney princess, or how pretty Yoona and Jessica are in real life, and how I was so glad to see Kangin come back together as part of Super Junior again, or how splendid Jonghyun’s body has turned out and how precious the Super Junior boys were being, acting there this was their concert at the end. OH, AND WE SAW QUEEN BOA LIVE!

My money is spent on having great experiences, and this was no doubt one of them. Every time I see Super Junior, or TVXQ or SNSD perform live, I am reminded of why I love them so much, and why my love for them is all worth it.

They have helped me get through life in their own ways, putting smiles on my face when I needed it, giving me the motivation to carry on and most of all, having something to look forward to in the future. I have always felt grateful to them for so many reasons, and getting to see the people who have such a big part in my life in ways they never know, it really means a lot to me. It seemed so impossible at one point, and getting to attend a SM Town concert just proves to me that I am unlocking my achievements one at a time, no matter how impossible they might seem now.

It was a wonderful concert. Mood didn’t get dampened by the rain, there were fabulous pyrotechnics, water fountains and most importantly of all, the people of SM TOWN. Fandoms came together to cheer their favourite idols working side by side. A concert I will never forget.

No pictures as Doreen and I were too busy spending out time enjoying the performances, waving lightsticks and fanboards at out idols, singing along and cheering for them.

To make up for it, here are some pictures I got off Google.

kpop in Singapore

Gone are the days when it seemed impossible to attend a kpop concert in Singapore. Besides the rare few like Rain and Shinhwa, nobody nobody ever came. I had to write to concert/event companies to try and persuade them to bring kpop artistes like TVXQ and Super Junior in which they would then reply, oh the market is not big enough, not enough fans etc. But look how wrong they are, kpop is seriously the biggest thing to earn money that is now. Concert prices are incredibly insane, idols sell out their concerts and have to do 2 day shows. Everyone is looking to exploit the overseas market!

Look at the recent example,

NU'EST in SINGAPORE.

$500 for a ROOKIE group even to stalk them during their entire Singapore journey is really quite ridiculous.

With $500 let's take a look at what other KPOP events we can attend.

going to concerts with the best seats,

a) BIG BANG galaxy live tour concert + SM TOWN LIVE (my pick!)
b) BIG BANG galaxy love tour concert + 2NE1 New Evolution Global Tour (for the YG fans)
c) SHINee World Concert II + SM TOWN LIVE (ultimate SHINee fans)
d) SHINee World Concert II + 2NE1 New Evolution Global Tour (for those who want an exciting December)
or

a) BIG BANG galaxy live tour concert + SM TOWN LIVE + 2NE1 New Evolution Global Tour + SHINee World Concert II (all with the worst seats)

Still a winner. I guess it is okay if you are a NU'EST fan? But seriously. NO. Stop exploiting us! We love our oppas and unnis but WE ARE NOT MADE OF MONEY!

I say that yes, but I am totally willing to go for concerts which I feel are worth it like SM TOWN!

WOO YEAH!

SM TOWN LIVE IN SINGAPORE IS HAPPENING! :D

CANNOT WAIT!

KPOP Game

Hello there, I would like to introduce a little game I played with my friends over a round of drinks. Everyone needs to have a decent amount of KPOP knowledge for this to be fun. 1) Gather around in circle. 2) One person starts and does a short signature dance of a KPOP song. 3) If nobody gets the answer, the dancing person drinks. If one person gets the answer, everyone else drinks. Only the person who guessed it the fastest wins. If everyone gets the answer, the dancing person drink as well. 4)Continue to next person. 5)End game when drunk. Some songs good for the game with really obvious moves. Have you voted for Super Junior yet?

If you have not already voted for Super Junior for MTV EMA's Best Asian Act please do so now!

You can vote by going here and click vote!!

So if you don't already know, here is the thing if Super Junior wins "Best Asian Act" they will then proceed to vie for the "Best Worldwide Act". This was won by Big Bang in Belfast last year. Check out our post on it here.

Anyway, our oppas have been actively encouraging fans on twitter to vote for them, Yes, vote for them!! Now please, Voting ends tomorrow. Each person gets to vote up for 100 times. If you would like to vote more for them, you can also here, here and here for additional votes. So that is like 400 votes per person, per day!

The irony is that, they are up again Han Geng, ex-member of Super Junior. Remember what they say, strength in numbers? United we stand, Divided we fall? And things like that? Well it is time to prove that. Hangeng made the decision to fly solo, I'm glad he made a name for himself in China and Taiwan. But going up against the old band which he left. I cannot find it in my heart to support him like this.

By the way, Psy is also up for the "Best Video" award for gangnam style.

So do your bit for KPOP and vote for Super Junior for Best Asian Act at the EMAs today!
